The Journey

Henderson Campus
Come to The Journey, a special Christmas event that lets you experience the Christmas story in a unique way. It’s a two-part event starting with a concert of beautiful Christmas music performed by musicians from all our campuses followed by an interactive journey as you travel to Bethlehem like Mary and Joseph did. Tickets are available at the Resource Center and at CompassionChristian.com. They make great gifts! Please plan to come the first week as we tend to draw larger crowds the second week.
Wednesday Service Relocation During The Journey
6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7
Adult Ministry Center, Henderson Campus
We use our Worship Center for The Journey, so services on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 will be held in the Adult Ministry Center. Follow the signs for service parking. There will be no separate children’s or student programming on these two dates.
Year End Offering
Sunday and Wednesday, Dec. 11 and 13
This offering is an opportunity to give a Christmas gift to Jesus. We wouldn’t want Him to be the only one who didn’t get a gift this year! For many of us, this is a strategic time to make an extra gift to the One Campaign to help pay down debt on our new buildings. We invested a lot to assist those affected by Hurricane Matthew. A portion of the offering will go to our Care Ministry to cover these expenses. 10% will go to our international partners. Just like you, when our church receives a blessing we try to tithe that to the people who need it the most. This is a great opportunity to have your kids participate in giving! Bring your family down front and let them lay your gift in the manger where God laid His greatest gift to us.
Adopt a Family
All Campuses
Choose compassion and “adopt” a local family in need this Christmas. We’ll pair you with a family and provide information about the children so you can buy appropriate Christmas gifts. You’ll meet the family, present the gifts and share the good news about Jesus, the greatest gift of all. Sign up at Connecting Point or email Aida.
Celebrate Recovery
7 - 9 p.m. Fridays
Adult Ministry Center, Henderson Campus
Celebrate Recovery is where you can find healing from life’s hurts, habits and hang-ups. As you apply biblical recovery principles, you’ll grow stronger in your relationship with God and find freedom from addictive, compulsive and negative behaviors. Childcare begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Lighthouse building.
Winter Coat Collection
Throughout December
Henderson Campus
Choose compassion and donate new or lightly used coats to our Local Outreach ministry. We’re collecting both adult and child sizes. We’ll give them to homeless people and refugee families. Leave donations in the collection bin in the lobby by the Global Outreach wall.
