Hurricane Information

UPDATE POSTED MONDAY, Oct. 10

Friends,

It’s time to gather as a church to pray for those who are in need after Hurricane Matthew and to praise God for his provision over our region, sparing us from what could have been much worse.

We will have services on Wednesday as usual at Henderson, East and Effingham Campuses. (If East does not have power, we will let you know, and we will ask the East congregation to join us at Henderson.)
We will have sign-ups in the lobby if you are in need of help or if you would like to offer help.

Let’s pack the house to hear Cam preach about the most amazing dream in the Bible and the most amazing answer to prayer in the Bible. Don’t miss what will surely be one of the most memorable services in our history.

(At Henderson, no meal will be served.)

UPDATE POSTED SATURDAY, OCT. 8

From Cam:

Hey Everybody...we're still here!

Just a few hours ago Hurricane Matthew blasted through the Low Country leaving a lot of wreckage in his wake.  Power lines are down, power is out, trees blocking roads everywhere.  Compassion Christians are uniquely empowered to thrive in uncertain times...but many of us have a lot of challenges on our hands for the days ahead.

I've heard some amazing stories of people in our church family who have chosen compassion even in the storm...can't wait to share that good news.

Because of the chaos of the storm we are canceling all services at all of our Compassion Christian campuses this weekend.  We tried to wait as long as possible to make this call to see if we got hit...we did.  If it were just inconvenient we would have services anyway.  But it's actually dangerous in some places and our public safety teams are asking that we minimize travel...so we're cooperating by canceling our services.

For up to date information you can follow me on Instagram at tcamhux or the Compassion Christian Church Facebook page or compassionchristian.com.  We'll let you know as much as possible as soon as possible.  But don't miss worship next weekend!  We'll be celebrating God's grace as we thrive in uncertain times...and pray for those who are hurting as well.

I love you, I'm praying for you, I'm thankful for the compassion you have shown in these difficult days.

UPDATE POSTED FRIDAY, OCT. 7

We still plan to have services at most locations Sunday, as conditions allow. Services at our Downtown Campus at the Savannah Theatre have been cacelled.

All events at all campuses Friday through Monday, with the exception of services, have been cancelled.

Growing in the Son weekday preschool at the Henderson Campus will be closed on Monday.

All administrative offices will be closed on Monday.

A MESSAGE FROM CAM

Good Morning Compassion Christians!

"This is the day that the Lord has made...we will rejoice and be glad in it!" Psalm 118: 24.

I just left Candler Hospital after visiting with my friend Amy Collins, who has been here for a couple weeks and has a couple weeks to go. Her attitude is so strong...her joy is so obvious. She reminds me of Daniel, the dynamic believer we started studying last week. The more impossible the situation, the more grace she enjoys!

We prayed at church last night for the folks in Haiti who are suffering so much because of Hurricane Matthew. Now the storm is headed our way. I'm praying you'll be safe, that your "joy will be full" even in the face of challenging circumstances and that the compassion of Jesus will distinguish us as we face this storm. Storms will come and go, but our God knows and loves us through it all. Be wise, be safe and trust in Him!

I want you to know that I love you and I'm praying for you today. Pray for your One today...reach out to them...let them know you're praying for them. Lord willing all of our campuses will be worshiping this weekend. Can't wait to hear some Compassion stories when we get together!
Love you and pray God will bless you with grace and peace,

Cam
