Jennifer’s Story

Before I knew Jesus, I was hiding from a very dysfunctional childhood. My job was very demanding and busy. Eventually my lifestyle caught up with me.

After my first child was born, I became very ill and could barely get out of bed in the morning. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but I had a lot more going on that I didn't realize at the time.

I became a Christian shortly after that, but to be honest, I didn't "get it" until about 6 years later. Because I didn't have a loving earthly father, it was very hard for me to grasp the concept of unconditional love from the Heavenly Father.

Some of our friends invited us to Compassion Christian. We didn’t go at first, but they were persistent and invited us multiple times before we finally agreed to go. Through the Captivating program at East Campus and help from some godly women, things finally clicked.

Since then, both my physical and my mental health have completely turned around. God put some AMAZING doctors and other helpers in my path to guide the way. Seven years ago I had to get out of bed slowly to avoid pain. I was addicted to anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medication and I hated life. Today, am on the road to recovery. I run 5Ks and I am an advocate for integrative medicine. My current goal is to go back to school to become a naturopath so that I can be His hands and feet, helping others struggling in the community.

I know that because I acknowledged Him in my ways, He made my path straight!
