Joseph’s Story
It was Easter weekend, 2014. We were on vacation in Savannah when my 5-year-old daughter, Brooke, got sick and was admitted to Memorial University Medical Center as an urgent case. I stayed at her bedside most of the time but was allowed to leave the children’s ward to attend a church service on Easter Sunday. One of the nurses recommended Compassion Christian Church.
That morning Cam delivered a wonderful message from Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He has put eternity into man’s heart.” I will remember it forever. At the end of the message he asked if anyone wanted to be baptized and countered each of the reasons people might not want to come forward with a solution. Thinking about my daughter in the hospital and praying for her constantly, I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to get re-baptized.
Since that day I’ve been more intentional in surrendering my will and my life to God with Jesus as my guide. The decision to get baptized has transformed my spiritual life and given me a wonderful sensation of freedom.
