An Invitation Can Change Eternity

You can change the course of a life, maybe a family, for all eternity.

Here are a few examples of how an invitation to Compassion Christian Church changed everything. Be bold. Invite!

Jeanne
A little over 30 years ago, we were a very young married couple with a toddler, fairly newly arrived in Savannah at Hunter and we would have called ourselves Christians but we really had very little knowledge and didn't attend any church on any regular basis.
An insurance agent came to our apartment while my husband was in the field. Naively, I invited him in but he refused saying he would come back when my husband was home. Well he did come back and then he promptly asked us what church we went to. When we told him we didn't go to any, he invited us to come to Compassion Christian and when we did, he introduced us around and his daughter became our babysitter.
Shortly after, my husband and I both were baptized and began our real relationship with Jesus! Thirty plus years later, three more children and several moves, we remain devoted Christians, actively involved in our local Christian church.
I wish we could let that insurance agent know that he sold us on a real eternal life insurance policy and we will always be grateful for his invitation and the care, nurturing and mentoring we found at Compassion Christian! God is good! Thank you to all who played a part in our journey!

Our friends brought us to The Journey and we then invited our other friends. We are now members, have been baptized, watched our friends be baptized and had our son dedicated at SCC. We are very blessed!

Everyone who I encountered who attended CCC beamed with delight when asked about it! They were like big neon signs pointing to a "life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.” - which led me to get to know and love Jesus. Thank you CCC family!

The Jacksons invited us on Father's Day and we said sure. We drove from Statesboro to Savannah for 2 years, but then gas got over $4 and we could not afford the trips. So thankful now a campus is coming to the Boro!

Maria
My neighbor invited me. It had been 10 years since I had been in church. She invited me and I fell in love.

I moved to Savannah not knowing a single person. I moved here for a job offer with the intention of moving back to Florida in a year or two.
I am an optometrist and I love to chat with my patients. As I was examining a young man, I asked him what he was doing this summer and he explained he was active in his church. I told him I was new to town and wanted to find a church. As I examined the rest of the family they described CCC and I knew I wanted to check it out.
I went that Sunday to church and met Cam after a powerful sermon. I did not go back to CCC for two weeks since I was out of town. When I did return Cam remembered my name. I never had to search other churches.
I intentionally sat next to a young couple and introduced myself as new to the area and they hooked me up with the Second Story ministry, a singles group for college and young adults. God worked on me so much during that year that when my contract was up for renewal I decided to stay! That was 11 years ago! God has blessed me so much! Thank you CCC for showing me what a personal relationship with Christ is meant to look like!

Cindy
I wanted a better life for me and my family especially after my daughter was born. So my sister invited me and we started going and now I am volunteering with the 4-5 yr. olds every Sunday.

When my husband and I moved back to Savannah, I started working as a second grade teacher at SCPS and some of my students invited me!!!

My sweet family friend Melva (invited me.) We visited during The Journey and have been hooked for seven years. Thank you Lord, for SCC.

While my husband was away on active duty with the Air Force, my sweet friend Sally (who is now with the angels in heaven) invited me. I was hooked after the first service! My son who was only one at the time was cared for and loved by the wonderful volunteers in Kids Town and now he is an active second grader who gave his life to Jesus at the Effingham campus and I serve in Children's Ministry with the one year olds on Sundays! I love SCC!

My friend Megan took me to this church one day and now I go to church with her every Wednesday and I try on Sundays and I am going to go on my b-day this Sunday. You should say thank you to Megan and her mom because her mom will do anything to have a new person come to church with her.
