Trista’s Story
“I want to share my most recent testimony that has brought me back to the church from a lengthy backslide. I am beginning to find a deep happiness again that I have felt was missing the past few years in my life.
Our home happens to be just down the street from Compassion Christian Church. I attended one fine Sunday. That's all it took!
After my son and his father survived a rollover accident the Friday before Christmas, I have looked at things a bit differently. We tend to take things for granted without noticing, saying, ‘I will do it tomorrow, call this person back tomorrow or give more at next week's service.’ Tomorrow is today!
I was living paycheck to paycheck as a single mom and trying to figure out how to make it. Then, I started getting child support, tax money to finish paying delinquent medical bills, a substantial work bonus, and after letting my vehicle sit for over two months and not knowing what to do to handle the $4500 repair estimate, my uncle offered to come trailer the vehicle back to Alabama and repair it, his gift to me!
The one thing I remained dedicated to before any of these blessings came to me was my tithing. This is the beginning of my testimony to anyone who asks me why I believe in God and how my faith is being strengthened and renewed every day!
Shortly after my first visit to Compassion Christian, I applied to volunteer in the nursery. I have volunteered for a number of organizations my whole life, and let me tell you something, the Compassion Christian bunch is a high caliber group with an insurmountable compassion for its members. I felt completely at home in every aspect.
When Pastor Cam started talking about the Easter Baptism service, the wheels started turning in my head. I wanted to take it to the next level, and there was nothing keeping me from wanting this here, at Compassion Christian.
God has planted my feet in exactly the path intended for my son and me. I am simply obeying.
