Baby Dedication
As parents we receive children as a gift from God, one for which we will be held accountable. What an awesome responsibility and what a great opportunity.
The Baby Dedication ceremony is a time for parents to introduce and publicly dedicate their children to God. Parents commit, with much forethought and prayer, to raise their children in ways that honor God, and the church agrees to support each child and family in this endeavor.
To participate in a Baby Dedication:
- You must be a member of Compassion Christian Church
- You must be baptized by immersion
- You must be a growing believer
- You must attend one of our classes
At the class, we teach about God’s expectations for family life and child-rearing and provide details about the ceremony. Registration is encouraged but not necessary. Please take your child to the nursery before coming to class so you can focus and others will not be distracted. At the end of the class you will be asked to pick up your child so we can take a family photo. The class is a requirement for families who would like to participate in the Baby Dedication Ceremony.
