5 Great Worship Albums and Why

Andrew Frazier

It was the fall semester of my sophomore year of college and I was making the eight-hour trek back to school in Knoxville from Savannah. I remember these drives being extremely lonely, and this time in particular it was so tough to leave Savannah and  my girlfriend (now wife) and continue our long- distance relationship.

As I was wallowing in my own self-pity, a song by Brian Johnson came on my iPod.  It was a song that talked about the hope that we have in Christ and reminded me that even in times when our hearts seem overwhelmed, we have ONE constant: Jesus and his love for us.

I remember just weeping and worshipping the whole way home through the snowy, dark mountains of Asheville, NC, and being completely broken.  These songs lifted me to feel hope and peace.

Through some of the hardest seasons of life, I have found worship music to be one of the most crucial parts of my spiritual and emotional health.  It helps me empty myself and surrender in times when I feel overwhelmed or burdened by the grind of life.

I am living proof that worship music can be used to uplift, teach and even heal.   My top five worship albums are listed below. If you are looking for a way to engage in worship throughout the week, need encouragement or are even just looking for some new tunes, I would suggest buying a few of these albums or  just selecting some of the songs. - Andrew Frazier.
