What’s Happening - Compassion Update

Harrison Huxford
Campus Pastor

The Compassion Christian campus in Statesboro is right on the verge of seeing significant changes and transitions take place. Our campus has just reached ONE year of leading people to a life-changing connection with Jesus Christ! Over the course of that year, we have been meeting in an elementary school near one of Statesboro’s major parks – Mill Creek Park. Families have found community, children have made friends, and people are seeing Jesus for who He really is and wrapping their lives around Him. This past year has been amazing, but what makes it even more exciting is to think about what is coming this next year.

The Compassion campus is in the final stages of meeting in a school as we are renovating a new location called the 410 building. The goal is to transition into this new location in March. In order for that to happen we have a lot of work to do. Several volunteers have been working throughout the week and especially on Saturday to see this move happen. They have been putting in an extra days work each week in addition to their normal jobs as teachers and business leaders. Because of our amazing volunteers we are one month away from moving! This new location is going to position our campus in the perfect spot to reach and impact the University.

Here is a quick look at what is coming up within the next month just to highlight a few things.

Feb 9th – Compassion Christian Church turns 50! Come Celebrate!
Feb 11th – REAL Women is having another “REAL Time” event
Feb 20th – Compassion Prayer Night
Feb 22nd – 18+ Party (for College Age and young adults)

There are several other things happening this month. If you want to be up on what’s happening at the Compassion campus, visit our events page and like us on Face Book. Also, there is a calendar that you can print out.
