HENDERSON

LET IT GO BY KAREN EHMAN
Facilitator: Kim Zellner, kimzellner@gmail.com, (912) 596-6942
9:15-11:30 a.m., Thursdays, March 24-May 11
Henderson Campus, Adult Ministry Center, Room 213 & 214

Women are wired to control. We make sure the house is clean, the meals are prepared, the beds are made, the children are dressed, and everyone gets to where they’re going on time. But sometimes our strength of being conscientious can morph into the weakness of being a slight—-or all out—-control freak! This humorous, yet spiritually practical book will help you learn how to control what you should, trust God with what you can’t, and more importantly, decide which one is which! Join Karen Ehman, a recovering control freak, as she enables you to:   Draw the line between mothering and micromanaging: Influence your husband instead of manipulating him; Take control of your schedule yet welcome interruptions from God; Learn to control your emotions when you can’t control the circumstance; Stop pursuing the appearance of perfection and start pursuing the person of God.  .  Purchase the study guide at The Source bookstore.  Childcare available with RSVP to Stacey Magoon at smagoon@compassionchristian.com. Space is limited so please contact her asap.

Surrendering the Secret: Healing the Heartbreak of Abortion by Pat Layton provides a personal study experience helping hurting women find the path to healing through honest, interactive Bible study; meaningful group experiences; unique journaling exercises; and confidential, caring community. Many women hide the secret of abortion deep in their hearts and they are suffering severe consequences. They carry a great burden of shame and failure, afraid to reveal their hidden pain, and by doing so are forced to endure the long-lasting effects in isolation. We serve a God who heals and forgives. Please join us as we seek to find freedom through 'redemptive community' while experiencing hope and joy, as shame and failure are replaced with beauty.  Purchase Surrendering the Secret Member Guide at the Source Bookstore.  Contact Paula for more information.

Perhaps no Old Testament event so dramatically illustrates God's persistent desire to relate to His children as the building of the tabernacle in the wilderness. Through the tabernacle God initiated a deeper relationship with His Chosen People by bringing reconciliation and revealing His glory. And certainly, no Old Testament event so richly prefigures the coming of the true Tabernacle, Jesus Christ. In this 10-week in-depth Bible study you will be challenged to prepare your heart, like the holy of holies, to become a home for His love and glory — a dwelling place for the Most High God.  Purchase Bible Study Workbook at The Source bookstore.

UNINVITED BY LYSA TERKEURST

Wednesdays, March 22-April 26
Midway Campus, Fellowship Hall

Rejection often finds its way into our hearts at an early age. Perhaps as a child you were teased mercilessly for your hair or clothes, or you received an injury and couldn't play the sport you loved and had to watch from the sidelines, or maybe like Lysa TerKeurst, an adult who should have cared for you and nurtured you, left without explanation. These wounds dig deep into our sense of self, and can resurface in surprising ways as an adult. However, this doesn't have to be the end of the story. In Uninvited, Lysa shares honestly from her own struggles with rejection and gives readers concrete truths to combat the lies our old Enemy hurls our way. You can stop feeling left out, because even when you are overlooked by others, you are handpicked by God. You can change your tendencies to either fall apart or control the actions of others by adopting healthy ways to process your hurt. You are designed for a love without limits, a love that will never let go.  Uninvited Study Guide required.  Purchase at The Source.
